The 182 Hill supposedly got it's name because a guy named Tom DeLonge had a car crash rallying there. They say it's the crash that gave him the idea for the band. They named the band "Blink 182" because Tom supposedly crashed at the top speed of 182 km/h and it all happened in a blink of an eye.
Anyhow, he now finances the "182 Hill Rally" at the "182 Hill", as the event and the place are named by the locals.
